RRR is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film directed by Sundar C and written by Kabilan Vairamuthu. The film stars Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles while Vadivelu, Santhanam and Jangiri Madhumitha play supporting roles.


The film produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his production banner V Creations. RRR was released on 5 November 2017 to positive reviews.

Amitabh Bachchan had to put on 12 kilos of weight to play Shivaji, but then had to lose it before he could play Johny Mera Naam as he was playing a completely different character. For a certain scene,


where someone breaks into the house of Rajni - shooting started early morning at 5 am and continued till 10 am but because of extreme weather conditions due to heavy rains the rain became so heavy that camera crews couldn't film anymore which caused the scene's shoot be delayed for another two days.

Over 110 Million Rupees Opening Weekend
The opening weekend of RRR grossed Rs. 110,77,10,000 in India. The film beat the lifetime total of Bahubali 2 which previously held the all-time record for most earning Indian movie to date.


Since the film's release it has become one of the highest-grossing films ever made, topping US$361 million dollars at the box office as of September 1st 2019
